235729 2004-05-11 05:46:00 on my sw2004 cd one file doesn't work correctly. NSWSETUP.EXE Can someone please tell me where to download this file Codex (3761)
235730 2004-05-11 06:00:00 The NSWSETUP.EXE file I believe is the installer file. Won't NSW install from the auto-run menu when you insert the CD? If you are getting problems with the installer, you can try to copy the entire CD to a temporary directory on the hard drive and try running the installer from there. Jen C (20)
235731 2004-05-11 06:08:00 I tried copying it but that didn't work, NSWSETUP.EXE is the only file on the entire disk that doesn't work Codex (3761)
235732 2004-05-11 06:18:00 What sort of error message do you get with that file? Anything about it not being a valid win32 app or something along those lines?

I would also consider taking NSW back to the shop from where you purchased it, and exchange it for another disk as the one you have could be faulty if you are unable to install the programs.

This is a clean installation you are trying to do?

235733 2004-05-11 06:29:00 I bought it in another country, the application is shown as a dos app when it runs it opens a dos windows the closes, yes it is a clean install Codex (3761)
235734 2004-05-11 06:29:00 I have found CDCheck (www.elpros.si) to be a good utility for checking the integrity of files on a CD. If it confirms that the NSWSETUP.EXE file is corrupted it will support your claim if you need to return the CD for a replacement. Susan B (19)
235735 2004-05-11 06:35:00 I have to ask this, sorry, but was the software purchased legitimately or is it a pirated copy? What country did you purchase it from?

If it is legitimate you may be able to seek assistance and obtain another copy from the NZ Symantec office .

If it is a pirated copy then this forum cannot provide assistance .

235736 2004-05-11 06:38:00 it is legite, but i worked it out, thanks for trying to help Codex (3761)
235737 2004-05-11 06:39:00 So what does happen when you just insert the CD or right-click on the CD drive icon under My Computer and select Auto-Play? If you are getting a DOS window opening, it sounds like you have might have the wrong file to launch setup (my NSW 2003 installer is called SETUP.EXE) and is in the root directory of the CD.

Have you been able to install other software OK using .exe's?
