soz for the late post but pf1 was ko'ed this morning (
the problem with useing a host file for dns reqests is it takes to much effort and time to put all the hundreds of ip and address into it and change the ip addy when the site changes its ip. as far as ad blocking goes its not to bad because you very rarely have to edit the host file. its far simplier to use a small program for dns cacheing (not to mention the other features like dual lookup, changeing ttl etc). |
