236419 2004-05-13 23:51:00 Anyone who has been following my threads will no i'm having trouble trying to get my speakers to work.
I went into the BIOS to check the onboard sound and it was set for auto. I then went into control panel, sounds and audiodevices, and noticed under sounds and audio that the "default device" was listed as "modem #0 line ....." .There were no other devices listed in the drop down bar. In Device manager, there is a yellow yellow question mark next to "other devices, multimedia audio controller and sm bus controller.
Does this mean that my on board audio drivers need to be reinstalled?. If so could i download and use these drivers from download.com.com

236420 2004-05-14 00:10:00 You need to install the Intel INF update and drivers for the onboard sound. Do you have the CD that would have come with the MSI mainboard??

If you put that in it will autorun and automatically detect and show you a menu of drivers you need to install for your mainboard.

If not get the Intel INF update (downloadfinder.intel.com)

The sound card drivers are a bit more tricky. Are you sure the model is MS-6579 for the mainboard??? as I can't find it on MSI's website.

236421 2004-05-14 00:12:00 Sorry forgot to add that most likely the 2nd option on the list of sound drivers from your link will work. (Realtek AC'97 WDM Drive) CYaBro (73)
