| 236239 | 2004-05-13 09:14:00 | Hi all just trying to get outlook express 5.5 to be the default mail program on a machine of ours. Windows 95 is the operating system and office 2000 was installed. Before office was installed we had ie 5.5 and outlook express 5.5 working together. ie when in ie pressing the read mail button would result in oe opening. When office was installed it installed microsoft outlook but the user never wanted it installed and just wanted to keep using oe. I uninstalled office 200 all together and reinstalled doing a custom install. Now when im oe and go tools, options..... make this the default mail program and press apply then ok it doesnt work you will option tools, options again and it will not be set as the default. also in ie under tools, options, programs tab you cannot select outlook express as the program for the mail service. The drop down box is empty. however under news oe is present. Thanls in advance for any help with this problem. It's driving me nuts. |
