| 236294 | 2004-05-15 01:58:00 | Many windows specific app's and services have the ability to act as or in the same manner as spyware if activated for that purpose by MS and associates or malicious others . When the latter happens, it is called a vulnerability if/when the former happens it is called a feature by some and invasion of privacy and/or usurp of owner control by others, depending on your point of view . Future versions of windows will stretch the points of view further apart . IMO, "improvements" to some of windows processes are not created for the benefit of the systems owner but are a purely commercial consideration (business/business, how to make more money without going to market, a la SCO) as opposed to commercial consumer consideration (make the user happy and therefore sell more product) . That rational comes from the cynic in me . A little bit cynicism, paranoia and common sense helps keep the your system and data healthy while obsession is wearying, unhealthy and counter productive .
