236672 2004-05-16 19:06:00 if you can use a boot disk to get to the A: prompt do this

type in c: then hit enter
type in cd windows then hit enter
tyep in cd command then hit enter
type in scanreg /fix then hit enter

if that dont get you back to windows do it again but instead of typeing in
scanreg /fix try scanreg /restore that'll give you a choice of about 5 previous versions of the registry to restore
if that dont work...........take a GOOD hard look into your puter...if you see lots of little things on the motherboard which are cylindrical theyare called 'capacitors' if any of those look kinda 'bulgy' on top then that is your problem............this is pretty common with pc company puters........they'll need to be unsoldered and then new ones put in......however there's no guarantee that'll last cause if some are gone others may follow........if you do see capacitors in deteriorated state then it's maybe time to consider a new mobo........
