236387 2004-05-14 04:16:00 Looks interesting. Still cant see the bittons on the left panel of this site if it identifies at Opera www.activecatalog.co.nz

Pity they removed the print preview toggle (which kept crashing) and the star on the top icon strip for access to things that are now in the side tool bar. No way that I can see to get it back there again.

236389 2004-05-14 05:38:00 Found the bookmarks, thanks.

I installed over the top of 7.23, fitted nicely and running sweet.

236390 2004-05-14 06:58:00 Aaaarrrrrggghhhh........

Saw this thread and noted the suggestion to do a separate install. And backup Bookmarks. So I opened "manage bookmarks", highlighted my 300 or so favorites, and then clicked "cut". Disappeared. So I then clicked copy, and the paste. Just to make sure.......................

Nothing. Nadda. Gone. The Bookmarks had shuffled off their mortal coil and joined the Holy Chorus Invisible. Deceased. Snuffed it.

I've searched my HD but no sign. Sigh.
Tried to import them to 7.5 but no go.

Any thoughts? :_|

236391 2004-05-14 07:00:00 Even though I've done a separate install, I presume I don't need to download Java again? Haven't deleted earlier Opera yet. Winston001 (3612)
236392 2004-05-14 07:03:00 Try looking in the Clipboard Viewer if you have that installed. They may still be in there. tommy (2826)
236393 2004-05-14 07:05:00 Or maybe you could go to Edit | Undo in Windows Explorer if you have not copied or pasted anything since.

If you have Sun Java you do not need to reinstall it. Check that Java is running by going to Help | About Opera and look under Java.

236394 2004-05-14 07:46:00 Thanks Tommy but no luck. I tried going back to an earlier restore point (yesterday) but no good either, to my suprise. Winston001 (3612)
236395 2004-05-14 08:14:00 Do a search for opera6.adr.bak - that is a backup of your bookmarks folder. If it is there copy it and rename to opera6.adr and replace the existing opera6.adr with it. tommy (2826)
236396 2004-05-14 11:19:00 Cheers Tommy. By good luck I seem to have inserted my bookmarks.

Getting used to the new style. Hotlist button seems to be gone but F4 does the job.
