| 236411 | 2004-05-13 22:42:00 | I'm a motorcyclist. When it rains, my clothes (or wet weather gear) gets wet. It has rained again this morning and as I have done every other morning this week, I stood my gloves on top of my VDU where by lunchtime, the warm dry air that eminates from my VDU will have dried my gloves to perfection. Got me to thinking that perhaps I should share this tip for other motorcyclists on pressf1 ... and also ask ... does anyone else use their free VDU central heating productively? | oggy (1250) | ||

| 236414 | 2004-05-14 01:03:00 | Good thought ... but it's OK. They're not dripping wet, just damp. | oggy (1250) | ||
| 236415 | 2004-05-14 02:11:00 | > But what about the water that drips down into the > monitor? :O Hey, don't worry Susan, there's plenty of power in a monitor to blast a bit of water away, and it makes extra heat as well. Also, only cheap monitors use water colours, so the screen won't go all blurry for long. :-) |

I nearly invented the water-cooled VDU! > I always knew I'd be nearly famous one day :p :D And when your gloves are dry you can do the same with your helmet so that it is all nice and toasty warm to put on at hometime . ;-) :-) I think I might turn my PC around so that the warm air blasting out the back can warm my feet up . Or maybe attach a hose and funnel it down towards the tootsies . All the hot air coming from this forum is going to waste at the moment . Shame . :D |
