| 237054 | 2004-05-17 06:10:00 | Chances are someone you know has a virus, and it's sending them out in your name, thus you receive the bounce messages. Heaps of threads about this already, try searching. |

It is not Spam. They are bounces as a result of a virus infection on someones PC. Definitions of Spam on the Web: Unsolicited "junk" e-mail sent to large numbers of people to promote products or services. Sexually explicit unsolicited e-mail is called "porn spam." Also refers to inappropriate promotional or commercial postings to discussion groups or bulletin boards. |

| 237058 | 2004-05-18 04:05:00 | The common tactic for virus writers is to spoof the "from" address in the messages their viruses send out . The extremely annoying result of this is that when ever an anti-virus package, either on a stand alone PC or on an ISP gateway or corporate gateway, detects the virus and sends what is suposed to be a helpful bounce message back to tell "the sender" that they have a virus, it in fact just tells an innocent third party (in this case you) that you've got a virus . Its a huge clogger of bandwidth and confuses the hell out of people who are either confused because they didn't send the message they are supposed to have sent, or if they don't pick up on that fact then think they are infected with a virus . Some anti-virus experts are now urging companies to turn of the bounce message feature of anti-virus packages as it is often no longer doing what it was intended to do . The virus usually gets the addresses it uses out of the address book of an infected PC . If your virus scanner is up to date and detects no viruses on your system then this message is most likely the result of the above scenario . |
