| 237010 | 2004-05-16 22:25:00 | running win 98se - 7gb hd - 256 ram foung this file "bargain buddy", a google search revealed spyware/adware - was able to remove through "add/remove", but after removing, the display panel wouldn't respond, in fact a fault window appeared - i restored it by backtracking - doesn't appear to be too serious so 'spose i could leave it but would welcome any comments and perhaps some way to clear it - this site is from google, was going to try it but the % sign doesn't work at the dos prompt??? www.doxdesk.com hope this is sufficient info |

| 237011 | 2004-05-16 23:45:00 | The "%" works with the DOS emulation under XP, unsure about 98. Does AdAware or Spybot not remove it? They would be the preferred method. |

| 237012 | 2004-05-17 00:39:00 | thanks for taking time to reply godfather that's interesting re adware & spyware 'cause i ran them earlier in the evening and looks like a no - re 96, that's a no too - don't suppose the % is a wildcard type entry in the "cure"? |

| 237013 | 2004-05-17 01:10:00 | The %WinDir% is simply a reference to your "Windows" directory. As it differs between OS versions, its a reference. In XP its usually C:\Windows You will know where yours is, so substitute accordingly. But its all related to the file you are trying to unregister. Find that and refer to it directly, using the path that actually exists on your PC. |
