236931 2004-05-16 08:37:00 I've been having problems with my computer. (Windows XP Professional)
It will not play WMV's. It goes "Downloading codec" twice, then says "Error downloading codec" and pops up a message saying that the codec could not be found. It works fine on my crappy 98SE PC that I got ages ago. However, that computer lags too much to play videos.
Please help before I throw my computer against a wall, I MUST see the E3 videos of games!

236933 2004-05-16 09:09:00 The good thing is you can download just the WMP 9 codecs, but you don't have to infest your PC with WMP 9 itself.

Do a windows update and search round in the options.

236934 2004-05-16 09:19:00 I used Nimo50Build8 codec pack. Worked like a charm for me just as long as you read the accompanying info. aNtzy (4070)
236935 2004-05-16 09:19:00 Using whatever WMP came with my computer, and the only codec I have downloaded is DivX. Doesn't play in winamp either. I'll go download the WMP9 codecs now... why they aren't included I do not know. Wilky (776)
236936 2004-05-16 09:46:00 thanks, downloaded the codecs and it's fixed. Wilky (776)
