| 236686 | 2004-05-15 00:37:00 | Morning all A couple of weeks ago I managed to get VX2.BetterInternet on my PC. managed to get rid of it but am left with a problem. When I am connected to the Internet I no longer get the 2 tellies in the system tray showing that I am connected. If I go into the connections, the connection shows as disconnected until I press the refresh button. Even then I cannot access the option to view the status of the connection. Also when I plug in my memory stick this does not show up either in the system tray. All other programmes are running in the system tray fine. I am running XP Pro and have ad-aware and spybot all up to date. Does anyone have any ideas??? Thanks Donna |

| 236692 | 2004-05-15 08:38:00 | I tried the solution at the site and it still doesn't work. I am inclined to think that the problem is not only with the system tray as this would have no bearing on me being unable to view the status of the connection from the network connections window. Any other ideas??? Donna |

| 236693 | 2004-05-15 08:50:00 | Start - Run - type SFC /scannow enter Nore the space between SFC and /scannow This will check all system files and replace any damaged. Not guaranteed to work, but should be done after your problem, as a starting point. You may be asked to insert your XP CD if the files needed are not in the HDD cache. |

| 236695 | 2004-05-15 09:32:00 | Thanks for that Godfather, worked like a charm. Tellies are now back and can view the status of the connection. Thanks Donna |
