I fiddle around with settings on the laptop and find that it has suddenly started acting like it has a direct connection to the internet! I can only surmise that this started happening when online gaming mysteriously started working as well. I've reconfigured everything to act like it's got a direct connection to the net and it works great! I don't have a router, I have an internal ADSL modem in the other computer. What could be causing this? Especially cause I don't think I changed anything when it started working.... |

You could post your network configuration settings and that might give some clues, but I reckon your laptop is set to recognise the other computer as its gateway. It is not all that mysterious though, I run 6 computers on line through one external ADSL modem, though to be fair, it is a router. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
