| 237059 | 2004-05-17 06:00:00 | Hi all. my step-daughter has a dell latitude 266 laptop running win me. When booting now it comes up with a blue screen and the following message Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer. System halted. It doesnt matter what you do, or which boot up mode ie normal or safe, you still end up with this message. I was hoping at some point to install Fedora Core 1 or reinstall win me ( probably fedora) but cant figure out how to access the bios to make it boot from cd rom. Please help me. Thank you Richard |

Other than that, that error usually means corrupted system files and I would reinstall. tried safe mode? If you havent, press F8 while booting until an advanced start up screen appears. |
