my

12 . You are validating my inherent mistrust of
strangers .

13 . I have plenty of talent and vision; I just
don't give a damn .

237354 2004-05-18 01:12:00 Im with Billy on this, would it just piss off the users at the other end?

Why not ditch Outlook Express which Im assuming you're using and use a Real email client like Thunderbird which easily allows you to choose HTML or Plain-text emails?!

If Outlook Express does this, Ive not yet seen it

237355 2004-05-18 01:29:00 Go to OE Tools > Options > Read. Turn ON the option to "read all messages in plain text". Jim B (153)
237356 2004-05-18 01:29:00 I'm completely Pro-Thunderbird, but . . .

In Outlook Express:
Tools --> Options --> "Send" Tab -->

Make sure "Reply to messages using the format in which they were sent" is not ticked .
Mail Sending Format --> Set to Plain Text

Then go to the "Read" Tab --> Tick "Read all messages in plain text"

That should make OE be completely text only .

The anti-html technique mentioned above is nuts .

237359 2004-05-18 11:53:00 I once posted a question (not in plain text) to a Linux forum and got my head bitten off for being a "bandwidth hogg" - while the person had a point (I suppose) the reality is that HTML encoded email is here to stay ... a bit like telling people to go back to DOS WP4.2 or something for their word processing.
