237610 2004-05-18 23:25:00 Greetings,

Im going to be helping a friend setup Kerio's Firewall (Free edition) so that it will allow all outbound traffic to the Dial-up connection, but block any unintended inbound traffic (Much like a basic Router would do).

The connection will be shared via ICS, so all LAN traffic must be allowed also.

Ive had a bit of a play around so far, but all I managed to do was lock out ALL LAN traffic and allow only the Gateway PC to use the connection.

Anybody willing to give me a quick How-to? Firewalls have never been my cup-of-tea.

Many thanks

237611 2004-05-19 02:45:00 There are lots of sites with good instructions on how to set Kerio up. Google is your friend. ;-) Susan B (19)
237612 2004-05-19 02:52:00 Open up Kerio, go to Overview tab > Preferences > and click the little box thingy that has the words: Enable gateway mode.....blah...blah...used for internet connection sharing.

Have you set up your Internet, Trusted zones and packet filters yet.

Okay, just tried that and no such luck :-(

I believe so.

Any chance you could Export your settings and Email me them if the PC you use it on is also used as a Gateway?

Many thanks

237614 2004-05-19 05:51:00 I use a router and switch Chill so setting will differ but happy to do so anyway. I have the manual for ver 4 in PDF, 706kb if you want that or go to Kerio FAQ (www.blarp.com) for good tips on settings.
