| 237969 | 2006-05-02 01:51:00 | I'm receiving the same the "Thotkey" error message with my Toshiba Satellite S 1405 171 laptop. Even after downloading the s500dhlx.exe file from the Toshiba sight the problem still exists. Could you tell me if there is another utility file that I should download and run as well? Thank you Robertwin38 Yours is a different model from the series 500. When you go to Toshiba site, here (www.isd.toshiba.com.au 0@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccceaddhhgfjglfcefecekfdffhdfgh.0) Click on Support then Downloads, then select Notebook [under Products], Satellite [under Family], then S1400 [under Series], and press Go. List of drivers that come up are Win2000 at top, WinXP at bottom. I put them in a temp file [C:Temp] and then clicked on each to install. I think it is the S1400DspHkeyXP.exe that you want.[if you're using winxp] Ring Toshiba - this number if in NZ: Contact: Toshiba NZ 0800-441-615 Mon-Frid 9am-5pm. You may have to remove old Toshiba driver before installing new one. Toshiba will tell you which ones will apply to your laptop. I also had to remove and reinstall Toshiba Utilities driver from Add/Remove in Control Panel. But don't do this till you have checked with Toshiba. Note that in this case I also downloaded the Toshiba utilities driver from their site before doing this. Cheers What is the 171 you mention in your post? |

| 237970 | 2006-05-15 15:50:00 | After unistalled Avast4 home ed, and installing Norman antivirus to clean an Indonesian's made worm virus , I was successfully cleaning the virus but my HotKey was not functioning (Fn+Esc until Fn+F12). I'm using Toshiba Portege R100 and have downloaded Common modules (PR100TCMXP), but when I installed it, there's a message: 16 bit Windows Subsystem ============================================ C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswMonVd.dll. An installable Virtual Device Driver Dll initialization. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application I also downloaded Toshiba utilities (PR100TUtilsXP), wireless hotkey (PR100WlessHKeyXP), extracted and installed those files. Still not functioning either. Any help would be appreciated. MBB |

| 237973 | 2009-02-27 06:13:00 | Follow these steps: 1. Delete the hot key utility from add/remove programs. 2. Delete the touch pad on/off utility 3. Reinstall the two above utilities using your recovery disk. 4. Reinstall the Toshiba common modules from your recovery disk. Or-if you don't have your recovery disk-you can prob get it online BTW Welcome to PF1:D |
