237803 2004-05-20 00:23:00 New and better plan for heavy users on Telecom $10 texting...
+++++++++

Over 20,000 people signed the petition. We took your names, ideas and frustrations and voiced them to Telecom. Telecom listened. The petition brought to Telecom’s attention the needs of the youth who use their service. urbanCulture newZealand has been in discussions with Telecom for the last few weeks helping them understand your needs.

Telecom has come forward with a new deal that we believe is a big improvement on the “500 then 20c” plan advertised.

Its called the "Monsta TXT" plan and it’s on Boost.

Basically, heavy texters will pay $10 to send up to 1,000 text messages to 025 and 027 mobiles. Additional text messages to 025 and 027 mobiles will be charged at two cents per message. Text messages to other networks will be charged at 20 cents per text message.

After June 1st, anyone on a $10TXT eligible plan can transfer to this Boost plan.

You will not be charged to transfer to Boost AND you'll keep the same 027 number.

237805 2004-05-20 01:08:00 Except that it's only to Telecom networks (025 and 027) ... what's with them not offering that to the Vodafone network??

237806 2004-05-20 01:09:00 What a waste of time! The main reason I am on $10 txt is to txt vodaphone phones too. That is a joke. And is it true that there are plans for a cheap txting plan to come out on Vodaphone? JamesStewart (874)
237807 2004-05-20 01:14:00 About half of all those Txt's Ive sent are to Vodafone.

It may be cheaper for some to stay with Telecom's $10 for 500 txt's to any network in that case.

So thats 1000 to only 025/7 and then 2c to 025/7 after that (and 20c to 021/9), or is it:
1000 txt's to any network, and after that it'll cost you 2c to 025/7 and 20c to 021/9?

237808 2004-05-20 04:47:00 You keeping saying Boost...

Do you mean this a Boost Mobile plan (still telecom)?

237809 2004-05-20 04:58:00 Boost is a subsidary of Telecom..like FreedomAir is with Air New Zealand..
AirNZ owns Freedom but they run their own company...kinda same with Boost...

I asked a guy at the shop today and he said all texts are included in the 1000 then after the 1000 is used up...its 2c to 027 and 025 and normal charges for any other...

BUT...knowing the shop he could be incorrect so lets wait for the new flood of advertising to come out...or sign up and find out then...

237810 2004-05-20 05:10:00 omg, telecom just keep making it worse.....

first off Boost is the most crappiest mobile service out there. and secondly, THERE ARE OTHER MOBILE NETWORK COMPANIES OUT THERE OTHER THAN THEMSELVES!!!. people who send messages to 021 are still getting a shyte deal.

Telecom, good one Guys :D ;). (bunch of monkeys)

237811 2004-05-20 06:03:00 i just found this on boost website

www.boostmobile.co.nz

and apparently what the guy in the shop said to me is incorrect according to the website...
its only 1000 free to 027-025 numbers then 2c after that
any other network...20c as normal...

guess this is to sasisfy the heavy texters and to lure more people to boost/telecom....

lets see what happens now........

but i wonder whats gonna happen to the people who have 027s on contract like paying via telecom bill etc which i do...do i have 2 go prepaid or what?

237812 2004-05-20 06:12:00 Perhaps I am the only person in NZ who doesnt give a monkeys about this???????

Then again maybe it because I dont belong to the youth brigade whom Telecom are trying to corrupt with their services :)

Ten years ago or so, no-one but no-one was seen going around clutching little things in their hands pressing buttons or holding same little thing to ear, and the world didnt grind to a halt. Now if teenagers cant text they go screaming and crying to the 'media'
