237656 2004-05-19 01:56:00 Yes, Telecom NZ will continue to enjoy being shielded from competition.

Not that there was ever any doubt what Swain would decide of course.

237658 2004-05-19 02:34:00 I thought Swain would at least ask Telecom to improve on the pathetic wholesale deal, but no, not even that .

237659 2004-05-19 02:48:00 Gah... we might as well revoke electricity and slump back into a complete 3rd world arrangement. whiskeytangofoxtrot (438)

237662 2004-05-19 05:50:00 I just don't get it.

"this is the decision that has the potential to quickly promote more competition in the long term interests of consumers," Mr Swain said."

yeah, sure, because 256k/128k is all anyone will ever need!?!

so much for the knowledge ripple...

237665 2004-05-20 07:59:00 Thats the thing I especially don't understand with this decision . . . ok ok so they didn't unbundle which is a shame/illogical in itself . . . but why only mandate a minumum of 256k bitstream access??? It is all Telecom will provide . . .

Purposely leaving New Zealand consumers in the SLOW lane .

It is blatantly stupid .
