| 238303 | 2004-05-21 09:48:00 | Hi people, I think I have asked this before, but I'm still having trouble with it. Not a biggie but damn annoying. In the task bar when you log on to the internet you get the two little tv screens, ok, but sometimes after an hour or so they disappear, and no way to disconnct from internet. Sometimes you can stay on the net for 2-3 hours and not a problem, hey strange me thinks. I think I was told to close down from the shortcut on my desktop, but there is know where in that shortcut to do so. When this happens the only way I can disconnect from the net is to switch of the external modem. Please an answer for this wee but annoying problem. cheers merlin-nz ;-) |

| 238306 | 2004-05-21 10:07:00 | When you open the dialup connection shortcut you should be able to click on disconnect. If you can't then your modem probably has already disconnected due to one of the many reasons that can cause a disconnect. |

| 238307 | 2004-05-21 10:45:00 | I have noticed this problem lately with my home computer and several others that I work with at other places. The little computers disappear from the system tray, but the internet connection is still alive - all the computers are running XP. A quick way to disconnect is to open Outlook Express, double click on "working online" at the bottom right, then click "yes" when asked whether you wish to close the connection. I presume that the problem is caused by some nasty which has been picked up and which I can not find. |

| 238312 | 2004-05-22 04:55:00 | sorry fergie No arrow in the task bar. :_| I used the link johnboy posted and have tried that and if the tv screens don't disappear within a week I will assume sucess. i have been reading on the net that this not that uncommon but I don't understand the registry and will not atempt that side of things. If it don't work will just push the switch on the external modem. :p :D cheers merlin-nz ;-) |
