238106 2004-05-21 03:15:00 more then once set of DNS Servers?

e.g. is this the only set of DNS Servers (202.27.184.3 & .5) they have or do they have others?

238108 2004-05-21 04:17:00 Alien and Terminator are the two common ones (the IP's you mention).

ns1.xtra.co.nz (202.27.184.17)
ns2.xtra.co.nz (202.27.184.18)

These both seem to exist as well though

Are the two above different from Alien and Terminator?

If so would a jet surf user be able to use them?

I hope that make sense

238111 2004-05-25 05:24:00 yeah, it will be in the internet connection settings of your dsl settings.
you may not be able to change them as you are using dhcp.

238112 2004-05-25 05:52:00 Windows XP will allow you to specify DNS Servers regardless of being on DHCP or not.

Bring up your Network Connections from within the Control Panel, right-click on your LAN Connection and choose Properties.

Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and choose Properties

From there, try specifying the following:
202.74.207.10
202.74.207.100

Hope this helps

DOH!! :| :(

So that would bypass the ISP DNS server as well, I guess?

238114 2004-05-25 14:02:00 If you are doing Internet Connection Sharing on primary machine and trying the DNS changes on the secondary machine then you cannot change DNS, as the Internet connection sharing machine is a proxy (not a router)

However if you are connected to a DSL router for instance, then you can use any public DNS server on either machine not necessarily your ISP.

Cheers
