238157 2004-05-21 05:20:00 I have jusr replaced Aida 32 with Everest.
It reports my system temperature as: m/board 25 c., cpu 26 c., Aux.25 c., and my Sata hard disk as 39 c..
Have a got a good system or is this just a lot of bull**** ?

238158 2004-05-21 05:25:00 it simply isn't setup for your motherboard. use a different prgram such as motherboard monitor. (or your motherboard dosn't have any sensors). tweak'e (174)
238159 2004-05-21 05:39:00 My m/b has sensors. Gigabyte bios reports CPU 32 c. and m/b 28c.
No sensor on my hard drive. Wonder where Everest got it's figures.

238160 2004-05-21 05:47:00 well my asus utility reports my P4 as cpu: 24 Mobo:28 right now so if' i's a p4 you got then yes the utility could certainly be correct drcspy (146)
238161 2004-05-21 05:59:00 On that note;

Does anyone recommend a good, nicely written and well laid out third party System Temperature monitoring utility, which has lots of configuration options? (If it could send an email when something was wrong, like my UPS software does than that would be fantastic).

I have a Gigabyte Mobo, but can be bothered using their utility.

238162 2004-05-21 06:21:00 MBM5 (http://mbm.livewiredev.com/) has more bells and whistles than you can poke a large stick at.

Its free as well.

238164 2004-05-21 23:02:00 I would only "believe" 24deg C cpu temperature if the computer is in an environment at about 9-10dec C, [or the computer is switched off :) ]assuming a heatsink and fan, watercooling is a different matter.

Just think for a moment about the simple physics of the situation.

238165 2004-05-22 00:02:00 Wooh ! Tried MBM5, now my cat has gone too.

And from the original question, - only believe it if you have to put anti-freeze in your coffee, (or you are running your processor at less than 50Hz.)

238166 2004-05-22 07:30:00 well terry about that 24 degree temp .......P4's do run cool and right now my system's been on all day since 5.30am and that's 13 hours and it's been doing very little admittably but it's reading cpu24 mobo29 right now............now how the hell do I know if that is correct or not ?........guess I have to believe it ?........after all an amd which is reputed to run 'hot' will usually run about 45 from startup.......where from startup if I dont do anything much cept surf and chek emails will start at about 12 degrees and slowly rise to it's current level...........but it does take a while.......guess temps depend on where the temp monitor is actually situated............anyone els gotta P4 to compare.. ?
