238010 2004-05-21 01:36:00 Hi Team

I need to bottom-align address-text in a Word text box but can only find top or centre alignment options. The work around at present is to enter line breaks to move it to the bottom, but I would prefer a permanent solution.

Any ideas?

Cheers

238011 2004-05-21 01:51:00 Easiest way is to convert the text box to a frame as frames can be positioned relative to the page/margin both horizontally (left, middle, right) and vertically (top, middle, bottom). Note you can easily change a text box to a frame by right-clicking on the text box and selecting 'format text box', then go to 'text box' and choose 'convert to frame' (well for word 97 anyway!).

If that isn't a goer, then you can always try inserting a 1x1 table of a fixed height (probably the same height as your text box) and set the alignment of the table to be at the bottom.

Could you expand on that a little Peter, my knowledge of Word (2000) is relatively limited and I'm not sure how I can position a footer box at the top of the page. What would happen if I wanted to use a footer box at the bottom as well?

Cheers

238014 2004-05-21 05:04:00 Hi Billy. Click on View-Header/Footer. It opens in the Header, but you can click on one of the icons on the floating toolbar to drop down to the footer. Treat the Header or Footer as a separate document to insert text, graphics, pictures, etc. The icon you want is about third from right - a small page with yellow tab at top and bottom. Scouse (83)
