238566 2004-05-22 23:32:00 Hi Team

I recently ordered cartridges for my Canon S750 from a new supplier. I asked and was assured that they were genuine Canon products but when they arrived they were Print-Rite.

I intend to send them back, but before I get into that argument with the supplier I'd like to know if anybody has used this brand and if so, what print quality they offer.

I need to print diagrams and photos to a suitable standard on high resolution paper (not actual photo paper) for business reports and if they can do that OK I'll consider keeping them on a "try but send back if not acceptable basis".

I will, of course, be having something to say about misrepresentation. X-(

Cheers

238567 2004-05-23 01:22:00 Main problem could be Warranty. I was using a Canon, bought fron Dick Smith, and used Calidad, also from DS. When a problem occured, canon refused to look at it - luckily DS did and fixed it. Long hassle though, and finished up with a new one, free fom Ds's. While it is still under warranty I will keep using Canon, but will probally change later - not that there is much difference in cost.

238568 2004-05-23 02:45:00 Thanks Peter

My printer is well out of warranty but that doesn't mean I want to wreck it .

My main concern is print quality, so if they can't match OEM results I'm just not interested .

238569 2004-05-23 10:03:00 Bily T. Have you considered re-filling your own?? We do, with both Canon & Epson. Canon has 4 seperate tanks, the Epson has a black cartridge & a triple colour cartridge. Different ink tho. We do not , usually, have any problems. I have been doing it for years. Ink is genuine. Can give you a phone No in Auckland or an E-m address if you want ??? PJ Poppa John (284)
238570 2004-05-23 10:12:00 Thanks PJ, but cost is not the issue for me. This computer is principally used for business, so it is consistent quality of reproduction I am after. I'm not really interested in refilling, but thanks all the same for your advice and offer.

BTW, what do you mean by "the ink is genuine"? Is it branded as manufactured by Canon?

Cheers

238571 2004-05-23 10:26:00 Billy. My supplier states that the ink is genuine for the printer. Has also told me why different brands have to stay with the brand ink. Viscosity, cooking temp. type of chemicals used. Can only believe him as have had no problem with print quality. PJ Poppa John (284)
