238582 2004-05-22 09:36:00 Saved a .swf file to another folder in the PC. Downloaded & installed Shockwave Player etc. But, cant find the Shockwave Program to open, then open the saved file.

Ive Real One Player, Windows Media Player etc. If I right click on the file, I can't find Shockwave player to associate the file with. Not even in more programs button, which eventually works it way back to C drive.

i see Shockwave has resided in Documents & Setting/ John/application data/Macromedia but I can file a application to associate itself with.

Frustrating.

Thanks..... John in Mosgiel.

238583 2004-05-22 09:45:00 Irfanview will play .swf files. You may need to install the extra plugins as well but they are worth having anyway. Remember to choose your associations when you first install Irfanview. Susan B (19)
238584 2004-05-22 13:35:00 I have had success opening them in Internet Explorer.
Right click>Open with>IE...Don't forget to uncheck the 'tick'

238585 2004-05-22 20:59:00 theoretically if you open them with Internet Explorer, it will automatically launch the Shockwave player and let you play the file. somebody (208)
238586 2004-05-22 23:55:00 the easiest way is to open them with your browser. unfortunatlu i think ifranveiw is limited to useing flash4 and will not always play the latest flash. tweak'e (174)
238587 2004-05-23 01:15:00 John, have you tried just double-clicking on the .swf file to see if it will run at all? What is the current association in File Types for .swf files? Susan B (19)
238588 2004-05-24 09:12:00 thanks to all. I managed to get the .swf file to work, using IE. Openbed the file, then Rightclick in the black box and away it plays.

Ive installed Irfan View, tried opening that way, but it wouldnt play the file. Here the link to the .swf file I was working on. If you have Jetstream it wont take long to download.

238589 2004-05-26 04:24:00 I found *swf would run on Internet Explorer only at the web site, if I saved the file and run from the hard drive I had to run it on Mozilla. hay u (5059)
