That's actually not bad logic When in doubt, suspect Windows! :D

239054 2004-05-25 20:12:00 I know this may sound silly check your ram, goldmem or another software tester, I had a machine do simular yesterday.... run fine for a while then freeze it turned out to be faulty ram stick (yes you could power it off and would run for a while then repeat the problem) One last idea, have you got a multimedia keybaord and nessary software installed to use it installed, try disabling it as these are or more correctly the software, this from experance can cause this kind of problem beama (111)
239055 2004-05-25 22:27:00 I have a Compaq laptop and had a freezing problem with it too. I have isolated the problem to Windows XP SP1. If SP1 is installed I get random freezing, could be 10 minutes could be an hour. So I reformatted and reinstalled Windows (from Compaq recovery discs). I then noticed it would run fine with no freezing at all. I spent many hours scouring the Compaq user groups and google etc looking for answers and there were plenty of problems, but no solutions....bloody useless comcrap. Sb0h (3744)

239057 2004-05-26 05:00:00 Looks as if SbOh's problem is a Microsoft problem, not a Compaq one.
Perhaps agent24, it's helpfully hinting that you should take a break from the computer every so often. :D RSI is a terrible thing.;-)

That's possibly in the mouse setup/drivers and may or may not be part of the issues.

Helpful comment eh? :8}

239059 2004-05-26 11:09:00 Hmm, maybe...

I went to the mouse manufacturers site and dowloaded the latest drivers for it, and then the scroll button worked fine, but there were these scary little eyes in my tray which always looked towards my cursor.... waaaa!
