238972 2004-05-24 10:04:00 Your printer documentation will give you the range of paper sizes and grades that can be put through - nothing too rough or thick I would think! JohnD (509)
238973 2004-05-24 10:54:00 Just remember inkets are designed to print on white (or very light coloured) paper.

You cannot print white on black or dark coloured paper for instance, there is no such ink combination as white. White would be an absence of ink, and on dark paper, no ink = no print.

238974 2004-05-24 10:55:00 Don't forget that with some types of paper, ink doesn't dry very well. You would have to be extra careful that the ink isn't smudged. The Warehouse Stationery has a wide range of printer papers that are patterned/coloured. Jen C (20)
238975 2004-05-24 11:06:00 Question on behalf of trouble and strife:

Can you print OHP transparencies on an inkjet printer? At present she prints at home and photocopies them at school. I suggested that the ink may run if put through the printer....

238976 2004-05-24 11:08:00 I have some paper that is used for ironing what you have printed onto material, such as a teeshirt, after you have printed onto the paper. The printing stays on the material for quite a few washes before it fades too much. I got it from Warehouse Stationey too. Andrew B (867)

Yes, but you need to use the right OHP media designed for inkjets . Otherwise the ink is like water off a ducks back .

And beetle, this is not a suggestion that you try printing on a duck .

One of Elephant's cows (pre-chipper) perhaps, but not a duck .

You can ... but the ink will take ages to dry and smudges really easily. You could try one OHP sheet and place it in the hotwater cupboard for a day to see what results you get. It is much easier to use the photocopier although unless it is a coloured one, it will have to be black ink.

238979 2004-05-24 11:35:00 laser printers do a good job of printing to OHT's, (mine does, anyway) as long as you don't mind the crinkles and the smell :D agent_24 (4330)

laser printer and the transparencies both have to be designed to do this
use the wrong type of transparency and you will get a large molten blob of plastic around the fuser of the laser printer, VERY expensive to replace

I would suspect that the transparency would also need to be designed for use in a inkjet/deskjet but in saying that I have put these through a HP 970cxi in the past with no problems or maybe I have been lucky. My advice check the specs of the printer and transparency before proceeding
