238894 2004-05-24 03:34:00 I am using All Player V2.X and when I try and play a particular .avi movie, no sound plays and a window says you need the AC3 Audio (Dolby) codex. It offers a website, but the site will not open. I then downloaded GSpot and ran the movie through it and it diagnosed saying:
Audio Format:
Code: 0x2000
Name: WAVE_FORMAT_AC3
Vendor: Dolby Laboratories, Inc
Gspot was unable to find an audio codec which will decompress this format. DirectShow was also able to find a codec to render it - the sound for this media clip should work fine. See the DirectShow Render details for more info.
The DirectShow Render details said:
DirectShow partially succeeded to play file. The actual text of the error or warning is:
0x00040242: VFW_S_PARTIAL_RENDER - Some of the streams in this movie are in an unsupported format.
Further, it said the missing codec was ac3 (0x2000) Dolby Laboritories Ltd. Then I managed to find this under a Google search, but again the links went to dead sites. I'm a little computer illerate when we get to this level, so can someone PLEASE give me a link to this codec, I have been messing with this all day and its driving me mad!! Thanks

238895 2004-05-24 04:50:00 A friend just sent it to me, its can be found at www.divxmovies.com if you need it. All is good! Aporosa (5671)
238896 2004-05-24 05:42:00 Yes normally I use the AC3 Filter available on SourceForge. Its pretty quiet for me though and not as loud as MP3, and I have to turn the volume up to 100% on everything just to hear it properly. I usually convert to MP3. kiki (762)
