1363008 2013-12-18 21:56:00 I have an outlook.com account. It happily allows me to send emails, and gets copies of emails sent to my usual email address. (tony.bacon@xxxxx.co.nz)

If I try to send an email to tony.bacon(AT)outlook.com, it bounces. Obviously there is something wrong with my outlook.com setup, but I can't see what, and a s usual, Microsoft gives you no useful information whatsoever.

Can anyone here help?

1363009 2013-12-18 22:30:00 What is the bounce message? If your other account is successfully forwarding to it, it is clearly set up to receive successfully. inphinity (7274)
1363010 2013-12-18 22:48:00 I just tried to send you one, got a bounce as well. Message I got was 'This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

tony.bacon(AT)outlook.com'

If you're getting emails automatically forwarded, the email account must be able to receive. No idea why it isn't working

Edit - for those who know a bit more than me, here was the diagostic code from the error report: smtp;550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable

1363015 2013-12-19 22:04:00 OK, all sorted. Thanks to CYaBro (and everyone else) for the help.

All a bit odd actually. Long story short, it turns out I actually have two outlook.com accounts, where I thought I had one and an alias. How that all arose I have no idea. I had been operating with the outlook sthw.co.nz account and the outlook.com account was dormant. Once I revived the outlook.com account I could (not surprisingly) send emails to it no problem.
