| 1362993 | 2013-12-18 09:00:00 | On one of my laptops I keep getting a pop up message to say that "Rundll.exe has closed down". This is annoying because I don't want to know! The computer works perfectly. I have tried all sorts of suggested cures but so far, no luck. System is Windows 7 Pro on a Dell Vostro 1015. Any suggestions? |

| 1362994 | 2013-12-18 09:22:00 | Its warning you that something is wrong. The computer may be running fine, but something has crashed or is missing, could be a legit program that's running in the background, or could even be malware. To Quote MS Rundll32.exe is responsible for calling Windows DLL (or Dynamic Link Library) files and loading them into your PCs memory. rundll32.exe errors are generated when Windows® is unable to locate the file the utility is trying to run. Just something to try, reboot the computer, once started, open the task manager, look under processes is rundll32.exe or rundll, exe running, and if so how many of them ? What you may find is something has been removed and theres now a DLL error becasue something is being told to run thats no longer there. If you like, so someone can have a look at whats starting, Run Ccleaner, go to Tools on the LEFT, under startup, bottom right is the option to save to text file, save it then copy/paste the contents back here -- this will show whats running on startup. |
