| 1362811 | 2013-12-16 04:12:00 | Hi - I have a Samsung touchscreen laptop that is nearly 12 months old. I have Windows 8 and all the security software and all updates done. I noticed several months back every now and again the screen starts bouncing around + the mouse becomes unusable + there are these light bubbles over the screen. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Is it a virus (I use MacAfee at all OK when I do a scan) | Bodes (8475) | ||

| 1362813 | 2013-12-16 04:40:00 | Thank you for your interest. I normally do not open and close the lid (just sits on a desk). At you suggestion I closed the lid just half way and opened again. Then opened several applications including Excel that seems to be affected the most (i.e. you put your cursor in a cell then all of a sudden its in another part of the spread sheet) and the problem seems to have stopped. In the past I have restarted the computer and this has helped but today it did not. Does this still sound like a hardware problem? The laptop is still under warranty for another 2 weeks so I will return it | Bodes (8475) | ||
| 1362814 | 2013-12-16 05:21:00 | Its possible the connection between the motherboard and lid may be faulty. ( its only a ribbon/cable that runs through one of the hinges) Make sure you back up any data before doing anything, because unless its an obvious hardware fault, the first thing thats usually done is a recovery of the OS is done restoring it to factory, if its still doing it then hardware is looked at. Suggestion - Call the service people that do the warranty, advise there "May" be a fault, see what they say, and make sure they log it, that way if you cant get back to them before hand its logged and reported (inside of a warranty time) While the CGA will cover it past the warranty (with in a reasonable time) it could be hassle to action it. |
