1362567 2013-12-14 11:03:00 Earlier on, it was FF having problems in opening PressF1 site, and after I re-imaaged my Win8.1 to earlier date, FF works just fine.

But, now I'm having problem in opening PressF1 with Internet Explorer 11. Other sites are fine, though.

Any suggestions as to what is blocking it ?

1362568 2013-12-14 22:55:00 See if this does anything, open IE, as long as it try's to open ( PressF1) up top click tools / Compatibility View Settings -- Add PressF1, (pcworld.co.nz) see if it opens now. Had PressF1 play up many times in IE 11, where other sites are fine. wainuitech (129)
1362569 2013-12-14 23:00:00 It seems there are many sites that don't like IE11, we've had a number of calls over the last few weeks with the same issue.
We tell them to do what wainuitech has suggested and this fixes it every time.

Doesn't help.

Still 'randomly' refuses to open PressF1. Other sites seem to be OK

1362571 2013-12-15 03:59:00 Are you using any sort of pop up blocker or any other add-ins on IE ?

Get the same problem with IE at random times, PF1 simply wont load or very slow to load. Personally I think its more to do with some of the adverts in PCWorld, as you mentioned other sites don't have the problem.

1362572 2013-12-15 04:19:00 No, not using pop up blocker, add-in. I don't actually use IE, only occasionally to 'complement' my FF or when FF fails to 'achieve' my tasks.

Since IE 11 has some 'known' problems, is it possible to go back to IE 10?

1362573 2013-12-15 04:35:00 You can uninstall IE11 from 8.1, BUT its actually built into W8.1, so uninstalling it will cause problems with other programs that relies on it.

To quote MS:

Internet Explorer 11 is a part of the Windows 8.1 update. It is not possible to roll back to Internet Explorer 10, while Windows 8.1 is installed. Never tried to install IE10 on 8.1, so no idea if it will install or not.

1362574 2013-12-15 05:53:00 Why not use something like Chrome or FireFox?? paulw (1826)
1362575 2013-12-15 06:12:00 I am running Win 8.1. Try pressing F12 (that brings up "Developer Tools") then change the "User Agent String" from "Default" to "IE10". See if that helps. I have found that it does with sites which refuse to open or behave strangely. Generaly I just use FF if IE11 does not want to play nicely. CliveM (6007)
