| 1362433 | 2013-12-13 00:46:00 | Windows Vista Home Premium (I know :yuck:) can't get windows updates get error: "Windows update can not currently check for updates because the service is not running" the service is running have scanned for infection: clean turned off the service, rebooted, turned service back on ~ still no updates ran the Microsoft FixIt program 2x ~ couldn't fix it. any suggestions would be appreciated. |

| 1362438 | 2013-12-13 05:41:00 | The error it came up had nothing to do with a service or windowsupdate. According to most sites, the Intel rapid storage drivers were out of date. Updated them and windowsupdate worked. I've come across the same thing a few mths with someone else Have no idea why WU would rely on Intel rapid storage drivers tho |
