What's up with this? On the wiki it says 64 bit Ultimate can have up to 192GB of RAM.

1362162 2013-12-10 08:15:00 That seems normal to me. Are you using integrated graphics? pcuser42 (130)
1362163 2013-12-10 08:29:00 That is completely normal (assuming you have put 8gb of ram on your pc, as you didn't specify), it is showing that you have 8gb of installed ram but only 7.66 is "usable". This is because hardware on your computer will need to reserve a certain amount of that 8gb of that ram for various reasons. This happens to everyone so dont worry about it. Slankydudl (16687)
1362164 2013-12-10 09:32:00 Yes until I get my 760 or 270x. ZacDaMan72 (17163)

Yeah until I get my 270x or 760. Also, which one is better bang for buck? Can the 270x or 760 use a PCIe 2.0 x16 to crossfire/sli?
ZacDaMan72 (17163)
1362166 2013-12-10 10:06:00 the 270x is better price to performance but the 760 is more powerfull card overall.
But do remember that even when you get a dedicated GPU you will still not see a full 8gb of usable ram.

The Gigabyte 760 Rev.2 costs around $95 more than the Gigabyte 280x for roughly 8 fps is not worth it and with Mantle there is a boost in FPS so should I get the 270x? Can I crossfire it with another but on a PCIe 2.0?

1362168 2013-12-10 11:41:00 I believe the 270x xfires withought using a xfire cable because it takes use of the extra bandwith of PCIe 3.0 and thus cannot xfire with PCIe 2.0. If you really want to run two cards (not recommended) then Nvidia is your only option.

As im sure anyone on this forum will say, xfire and sli are not recommended unless you are looking for a cheap performance increase to go with your existing card or are already running the best single GPU solution that money can buy.
Because of this I would recommend getting a single gpu that costs the equivilent of two 270x such as a 770/780. You could also go for the R9 290 from AMD but until companys start bringing out aftermarket coolers then they are to be avoided as they have no overclocking potential due to the terrible job their reference cooler does.

Mantle at this point is still an unknown as no one really knows how much of a performance increase it will give nor do we know how well it will be supported. At the moment battlefield is the only confirmed candidate for mantle, because of this you cant really include mantle as a list of reasons to go for AMD over Nvidia.

At the end of the day it all comes down to how much money you can currently spend on a GPU and which GPU falls in that price range and has the best performance.

That's a xfire thing aye? Also I was planning to get the 760/270x then wait till the price drops to around $250-300 then buying another. I think I'll get the 270x, thanks!

The 270x is just a rebadged 7870, so still uses the CF finger and also has the same CF frame pacing issues with eyefinity and DX9 games as 7xxx series. AMD promised the fix in November but as always with AMD, they are full of promises and light on delivery. I would also take their promises with Mantle with the same caution!
