2013-12-10 08:06:00 | Hi, Does anyone know how to set up a Slingshot pop3 account on the above touch screen tablet? I was trying to give some assistance to a lady who has one and when I went into her email app. it showed her emails ok , but there were no folders listed on the left hand side, so she could not see her Inbox, Sent items, Deleted items, etc. I tried the settings and that was no use, I just don"t know where to find them or how to put them where they should be! Will be seeing her again next Monday and told her I would try to find out how to put those folders on. LL

2013-12-10 08:29:00 | Try this details from Telecom help.telecom.co.nz Thanks Webdevguy, She already has the App set up to send and receive emails with her Slingshot account, it's just that there are no folders showing. Also, when I hit the Options icon, (that thing on the taskbar), all it did was take a screenshot! I can get into the email settings and can see all the folders in there when I press "Create New Folder" but cannot place them in the left pane of the App where they should be. Should I remove her account and reset it up again from scratch, would that help? She told me that she didn't do any setting up at all, and that she just went into it one day and all her emails were in there. So, I have no idea how it was done. LL

Ah ha, yes thanks CYaBro, I just googled it and found this androidforums.com So I think that may be it. Will try that on Monday when I see her again. LL |

2013-12-10 08:47:00 | POP3 is not the way to do it, I don't even think it supports folder sync. Use imap, should be the same as details here: www.iphonewzealand.co.nz | Alex B (15479) | |

2013-12-10 09:46:00 | Yes I get that, but the mail server settings are the same no matter what the device is. As per the link: Incoming Mail Server Host Name: imap.slingshot.co.nz User Name: username Password: your-account-password Outgoing Mail Server Host Name: smtp.slingshot.co.nz User Name: username Password: your-account-password

2013-12-10 19:21:00 | Her email is already set up and is working fine, just the folders were not showing. This has now been fixed by swiping in from the side to un hide them. Cheers, LL
