| 1342113 | 2013-05-20 04:18:00 | Hey guys and girls - had a friend ask about this. Any free software or suggested software that you can recommend? She wants to video her child playing sports and then edit the video to slow it down for tries and possibly put background music to it? I've never played with any sort of video editting software so thought I'd ask for her. Cheers. |

| 1342116 | 2013-05-20 04:56:00 | Yeah just have her use the *latest* Windows Live Movie Maker as part of that "Live Suite" whatever that they do, not the one built in to XP / Vista... | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||

The great thing is that it comes with Windows so nothing to buy. Once you have shot your video, you need to upload it to your PC. Check to see that your PC has a card (IEEE 1394 Host Controller) that will allow you to upload the video and you need a special IEEE 1394 lead to transfer between the camera and PC. There will be a tutorial that you can follow. Although you have not used a video editing tool before, I think that you will find it relatively easy once you have had a few goes. Once your video is complete you need to render your video, which simply means that it converts your edited video to a useable video file. Once that is done you can then, if you want, record the resultant video back to your camera and then play it on your tv or, alternately, you are able to burn it straight to a DVD. Hope that you enjoy making videos. It can be very satisfying. |
