UPS solves that issue.

1341610 2013-05-17 03:12:00 I decided to give VDSL a miss . If I was doing allot of uploading I may go for it but I get 15Mbits on ADSL2 where I live so I'm fine until fiber comes some time later this century..
15mbps ADSL2+ is 50% faster than the 9mbps I was getting, and I get 25mbps on VDSL2 now too...

Pretty much, hundred bucks and it's worth having regardless coz if power goes down, internet goes down currently... Can't use Cordless phone either :p

We have 2 corded phones to plug in, one in my room and the other one sits in the cupboard that houses our patch panels.

1341612 2013-05-17 04:34:00 Run really long cables, suss some structured cabling, or hook an ATA in to your primary house wiring (Not ideal). Chilling_Silence (9)

This is a picture of my patch panel below.

1341614 2013-05-17 05:07:00 So patch both phones back to the patch panel then, and just have a 2-port ATA Adapter like the Cisco SPA112 there, running off a UPS, along with your DSL modem, Wireless router, and switch, as well as maybe a cordless phone base station. Wouldn't use much power at all! Chilling_Silence (9)
1341615 2013-05-17 08:03:00 Glad it's working well for you. What're you paying for it and what sorta data cap are you getting?

30Mbps Fibre speed, getting 27 or 28 and up is almost a 9. 50GB data, $75 a month emailed invoices, I auto pay with credit card. Snail mail invoices cost a bit more. 2yr contract to waive the modem cost (and the connection fee). Got caller id which is cool, haven't turned on voicemail or call forwarding, we have a answering machine with our cordless phones anyway. Local calls are free and data doesn't count, old telephone no. ported over.

Do they make 4 port ATA adapters? That is an older pic and there are 4 phones live right now.

Nice :)
I'd still prefer a UPS, personally, to power the router also...

They do, like the Grandstream GXW4004.
Alternatively, just get 2x Cisco SPA112's ;)
