| 1341416 | 2013-05-15 22:49:00 | Lol, thank you all for the vote of confidence on my intellect - flattering :) You must be the exception that proves the rule!! :) By and large the public service sector of society is not held in particularly high regard (perhaps because politicians are included in this group), with the possible exception of police and teachers (although there are 'bad eggs' in these sectors also) . The public gain these impressions though personal experience, experiences related by friends and family and the news media . It doesn't matter who you are or what you do, you end up judged by the actions of others . "It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys . " And "All generalisations are false . | 1341420 | 2013-05-16 03:12:00 | Talking about public servants, it took me from 8-30am to 12-30pm today to make an appointment with our local hospital. After leaving messages on answer phones and being told by one person that I would need a referral from my doctor I finally got a phone call at 12-30pm saying they had made an appointment for me in 2 weeks time. :) |
