| 1362563 | 2013-12-14 10:04:00 | have purchased new ASUS laptop and while it detects my wireless network it says no or limited internet access. The other laptop in the hosue and PC are fine online so what should I do to get the laptop connected? Any ideas welcome! Thanks |

You need to put your password in and join your network to get internet access. ie I can see about 5 different wireless networks around here but I am only connected to my own. Being able to see it and joining it are two different things. | CliveM (6007) | ||

Either way its likely not getting an IP address from the router. Two checks: 1) Make sure you're in the same room as the router. Disconnect then reconnect. Does it still occur? Its likely the router 2) Shut down the other laptop. Restart the router. Now try and connect from the "not working" laptop, while the "working" one remains shut down. Does it now connect? It probably will, which means the issue again is the router. Get a different make / model, we'll advise after confirming that's the issue for sure. Good luck :D |
