1362149 2013-12-10 08:06:00 After reading last week's Press F1 thread about Ransomware, and thinking about what a disaster it would be to be caught by it, I wondered what to do to eliminate that chance.

Most interesting was wainuitech's comment about an outgoing firewall rule stopping it "calling home", but setting up the W7 firewall to do this is more than I want to get involved in.

I investigated third party firewalls, but they all seemed over the top in size and complexity compared with version 5 of ZA that worked in XP. However, came across Tinywall, a front end for the W7 firewall. It does the job of configuring the outgoing side in a GUI that is good to use, and does what is needed - blocks everything except what you have told it to allow.
Has anyone tried it recently, or is using it? Does it do the job properly that I think it does?
