Its only the public preview so its best not to install it on a production computer as its still not complete. Be interesting to see what changes have actually been made. Theres lots of rumours floating about relating to the start button, some say it will only take you to the titled start screen, others say differently ;) |

2013-05-15 21:22:00 | I setup a pc with 8 on it last week (elitepad actually) with a second screen and liked the way the tiles were on the main screen and the second attached monitor had the desk top | Gobe1 (6290) | |
2013-05-15 21:40:00 | I'm most looking forward to the smaller tiles, they were a godsend on Windows Phone 7.8 :D | pcuser42 (130) | |

2013-05-17 00:46:00 | I've been using 8 more and it's not so bad. Switching back and forth between open apps and desktop programs is a little awkard at times but everything else is starting to grow on me. What it could really use is a back button that functions like the android one. And for mouse users the default power button still takes too many actions, almost forces you to use the power button instead.

2013-05-17 01:04:00 | If people only miss the start button for shutting down/restarting came across a reg add in the other day, even faster than moving the mouse to the start button. Simply right click and there's the shutdown options. custom-shutdown-menu-into-the-windows-8 (www.techrepublic.com) Scroll down to "Using the Reg files" and read/Download. Personally from experiences many people don't use the start menu anyway once shortcuts are on the desktop. There was a article written several years ago stating that modern computers take away the ability for some people to think, as they do everything for you -- oh how true that is in some cases :D I setup a W8 laptop the other day for a lady, she had only seen it on TV and heard what some people were saying, gave her around two minutes of instructions and her comment was " whats the problem - Its simple"
