When you say that the DVD drive does not work what are trying to do with it? I must admit that I have never tried WinXP O/S, Office 97 AND a DVD drive. When you say the DVD does not work what are you trying to do? Sounds like a hardware problem possibly??? > Anyone got anyt ideas? |

| 239537 | 2004-05-27 01:41:00 | Apparently Office 97 will work on XP, though some of the functionality (macros and spell checker etc) may not function correctly. Even so, this software issue shouldnt have a bearing on your DVD drive. If you have a look in the Startup file in the Start menu, you may have an office auto executer there. If you remove this it wont have Office 97 running in the background and may fix your dvD issue. But are standard cd-roms working in it? what kind of errors are you getting? More info please |
