| 239198 | 2004-05-25 05:42:00 | BEFORE YOU GET ALL ANGRY AT ME FOR WHAT SEEMS TO BE AN OVER-ASKED QUESTION, READ MY POST! (I've already searched around on this forum) I have a CD RW Drive. I have two virtual drives. I turn virtual drives off. I put another CD ROM drive in. Only one is visible from My computer. There is nothing wrong with either drive. (Only the master drive can be seen, and it can be used perfectly. I switched them around to see the affect, you see) Also, Device manager detects them and it says that they are both in A OK working condition. Sisoft sandra even lists them as physical, but it only lists one as logical. I suspect i must fiddle with registry, or tis there an easier way? Anywho, how do i get em both to show up? Partition Magic 8 and the other drive manager didnt help. |

| 239201 | 2004-05-25 06:42:00 | As I said, they are showing up as physical but not logical drives. This means its a windows problem. This means it can be fixed. But how? |

| 239202 | 2004-05-25 13:54:00 | If you are running XP, then do the following Start - Control Panel - Adminstrative tools - computer management In Computer Management Applet On the left side tab - Click on Storage and then Disk management Now on the right side it will list all the physical drives, scroll down to your CDROM devices ( you will see your virtual and physical drives listed as CD-ROM 0, CD-ROM 1, and so on and their logical drive names. Right click on the new drive and change the drive letter. Hope this helps. Cheers |
