2004-05-27 11:40:00 | i have assembled a new pc and on power up the pc piezo starts wailing like a siren, power led is on but no SATA HD light and monitor is blank, so i cant even tell if POST is started let alone complete, manual makes no mention of this warning noise. polarity of all panel plugs are fine, memory is seated, agp is correct voltage, "case open" is disabled, Monitor is connected and works on another pc, cpu fan is running, power supply is fine, M/b = px865pe CPU = 2.8 intel 800 memory = 512 dual channel psu = 400W anyone heard this sound b4?

2004-05-27 11:52:00 | Probably some sort of warning, like the CPU overheating. Maybe you haven't got the CPU seated properly? | kiki (762) | |
2004-05-27 12:01:00 | Certainly a common indication of overheating of the CPU | godfather (25) | |

2004-05-29 04:16:00 | Could it be likely that the speaker was or is connected the wrong way round, on the wrong pins? Or, maybe look outside, there's an armed offenders callout in your street... J :D

Know you have the manual but did you have or download the DIY installation guide from the Albatron site? It may contain more information (I'd do it myself but it's about 5.5 Mb's and I'm one of the 4.2 percent of NZer's who don't have broardband). www.albatron.com.tw Regards |
