239787 2004-05-27 11:40:00 i have assembled a new pc and on power up the pc piezo starts wailing like a siren, power led is on but no SATA HD light and monitor is blank,
so i cant even tell if POST is started let alone complete, manual makes no mention of this warning noise.
polarity of all panel plugs are fine,
memory is seated,
agp is correct voltage,
"case open" is disabled,
Monitor is connected and works on another pc,
cpu fan is running,
power supply is fine,

M/b = px865pe
CPU = 2.8 intel 800
memory = 512 dual channel
psu = 400W

anyone heard this sound b4?

239788 2004-05-27 11:52:00 Probably some sort of warning, like the CPU overheating. Maybe you haven't got the CPU seated properly? kiki (762)
239789 2004-05-27 12:01:00 Certainly a common indication of overheating of the CPU godfather (25)
239790 2004-05-27 12:03:00 yes checked that, seated tight as a drum. skinnerjack (4296)
239791 2004-05-29 01:45:00 maybe something got broken? agent_24 (4330)

You must have bought one of those new TCPA motherboards. Its merely informing you that you have pirated software on the machine and that the police will be informed through the internet connection.

239793 2004-05-29 02:13:00 Apart from the fact that due to that he hasnt been able to install anything.......... agent_24 (4330)
239794 2004-05-29 04:16:00 Could it be likely that the speaker was or is connected the wrong way round, on the wrong pins?

Or, maybe look outside, there's an armed offenders callout in your street...

239795 2004-05-29 04:54:00 Even if the speaker cable was on back-wards I would think that it would at least still boot.

Know you have the manual but did you have or download the DIY installation guide from the Albatron site? It may contain more information (I'd do it myself but it's about 5.5 Mb's and I'm one of the 4.2 percent of NZer's who don't have broardband).

Also to note I found this on another help site, the solution might be something to try .

"i have an Albatron 865PE Pro, not the lite variant, and i had a bit of a problem with it .

when i bought it with a processor i got a great deal on it so i figured, why not? but i also bought a SATA hard drive to use as my one and only drive since the board had the support for it . bad news when i put my machine together . . . the board's SATA ports wouldn't work . so i snooped around online looking for answers and guess what? . . . . the board needed a bios update for the SATA ports to be functional . . . "
