239760 2004-05-27 10:02:00 Guess I must have missed something on installation of win2000, as each time I startup I have to login.

As I am the only person who will use the computer, I would prefer an auto login.

Without re-installing, is there a way to achieve this?

239763 2004-05-27 12:05:00 You don't realy want to be logged in as administrator all the time though, do you?

239765 2004-05-27 19:38:00 Being so new to this OS Murry P, I am unaware of the implicatiions of loging in as an administrator, so to help me out, why would I not want to login as an administrator each time? Is there a downside to doing this ?

In advance, thanks :-)

239766 2004-05-27 19:42:00 Hi Rob, ment to grab tweakUI for the last OS (WinME) but never got round to it, will do so this time as there were a couple of other things it might be helpful for as well. Thanks. Curly (487)
239767 2004-05-27 22:01:00 Logging in as admin by default provides an opportunity for some malaware, trojans, etc, to execute code that they could not with out admin rights. ie, they can jump in on the back of your admin session and do their stuff in the background. It's good practice to rename your admin accounts and make sure guest accounts are disabled too.
