239638 2004-05-27 01:48:00 Hi
Got this one at work a wee while ago. 'Yeah right' I thought for a start but a source I know added a note that she had verified this with Vodaphone. Nothing on CNN as suggested in the e-mail ... but a great way to bring down server? Any comments? (I'm just glad I don't have a cell phone)

239640 2004-05-27 02:01:00 Well, that's an "oldie and baddy". Try May 1999. :D

Have a look at this article at the University of Michigan Virus Busters (www.umich.edu) site.

239641 2004-05-27 02:04:00 Thanks folks.
The sensible half of me said "hoax" so the paranoid half said "ask Press F1"

Cheers

239642 2004-05-27 02:23:00 I don't know about there never will be a virus for mobile phones. Its quite possible and with the takeup of internet or voice over IP services on mobile phones or PDA's its not impossible. KingWave (5517)
239643 2004-05-27 03:27:00 Some of the newer PDA / Cellphones have an OS on them. Surely this means there can be room for a virus.

This is regardless of if the OS is Flashable or not, surely it can stay in memory or the likes?

It may not be reality right now, but Im sure it will be soon...

I doubt it because Half was saying ask PressF1, and part of him was saying Forward it on. That means that if half of him were thinking should I ask Google then there would be more than one whole PressF1 user, and that would just be silly!

;-)

Chill.

239647 2004-05-27 05:12:00 Actually the half of me that could have asked Google was the same half that elected to ask PressF1 instead.
(Comparing 'PressF1' to the mightly 'Google' ... sucking up to PCWorld because I haven't paid my subscription yet) :8}
