I have WinME on laptop connected via cat5 to ethernet hub and WinXP desktop in the office. Even if laptop is not connected to the network, the desktop always keeps dialling into ISP.
How can I configure to only dial in when I ask it to? |

As far as I know you can't :(. (But I am not totally sure) I had the same sort of problem with an old computer (until it finally blew up for good) |

rerun the network wizard. there is a setting along the lines of "dail whever needed". turn that off. you will need to manually dailup when you need internet acces on the laptop or simply use a remote dailup program such as RDU (from twigga i think .....will have to search for it). |
