240408 2004-05-30 05:50:00 I've got a old Deskjet 600 (colour capable) running on XP Pro SP1. It's capable of max 600 x 600 in black and white, and when I ran W98 it could print images in 600 x 600. Since running XP it will now only do 300 x 300 max for images.

The machine label tells me it's a DJ 600, and it's using the XP DJ 600 drivers (which have made the Properties and settings interface different from before.

Now there is a DJ 600c, which is supposedly the Colour version of this machine. But as I say this one is labelled 600, despite the fact that it can swap in a tri-colour cartridge.

The difference (by the sounds of things) between yours and a 600c is that a 600c can have both the black and the colour cartridges installed at the same time.

Have you tried looking on the HP website for a better driver?

Mike.

Re drivers, I have the latest from HP. And the XP one I couldn't find. i did see an option called Microsoft Office Document Imager Writer Driver - but somehow doubt that will help.

Nevermind
