240471 2004-05-30 10:59:00 Hi all,

I am having an ongoing problem finding a way so that only Outlook's address record, and email status download to the desktop from the laptop, and vice versa when they are connected via a network. That is, I take the laptop away alot, and download emails on the laptop whilst away. Once I return from the trip, I would like to be able to synchronise the two PC's so that the desktop uploads the emails downloaded by the laptop whilst I was away. Ideally, I would also like to have all the old email details on both PC's so I can obtain old email data where necessary......

So I guess, my main question is - is there a program that allows me to do this? Or is there an easy way to do this?

Many thanks

Craig. :D

240472 2004-05-30 11:22:00 Simple way is to set both PC's to "leave a copy on the server"

Then at a set period go in (via webmail perhaps) and delete the mail on the server, after checking the mail on each PC.

Other than that, transferring the .pst file would work but is very messy.

Cheers

240474 2004-05-30 11:51:00 The location depends on the version, the version of Windows, and the choices made whan the installation was done.

Search would be easiest.

Its a system file so may be hidden.

Its usually VERY large and traditionally a pig to transfer (import).

Its not the way I would do it, because it would make one PC have a copy exactly the same as the other. Its not a synchronisation as such.

Using the ISP server is tidier.
