240441 2004-05-30 07:10:00 Anyone remember Windows for Workgroups 3 . 11?

Our primary school runs a DOS based accts program on an old PC along with Excel (Office4 . 3) .

When I print from Excel I get the error msg "cannot find HPFC1618 . DLL" followed by "Queue processor for port LPT1 could not be loaded" .
It then carries on to print 1 page successfully but then no more .
Printing from the DOS based accts package is fine .

All used to be OK until I decided to tidy up & remove all the unused printers that had been attached over the years & leave just the HP laserjet .

They do say if it ain't broke don't touch!

I have tried to reinstall WinWkgps over the top but same msg . Have searched for the missing DLL on HDD with the intention to undelete but could not find it .

Has anyone any ideas on how to fix this poblem? I would be REALLY grateful .
Thanks, Anna

240443 2004-05-30 12:02:00 try reinstalling the print driver
When deleting the old printers you said YES to remove all unneeded files
I learnt my lesson the hard way also DONT DO IT

240444 2004-05-30 12:08:00 hey this is getting the cobwebs sorted out
try this command at the a dos prompt (without the quotes) "undelete *.* /w /p" (w >wide format, p> pause between screens)see if it lists any files. It will depend on your version of DOS if this command is supported you may get lucky
